active volcano located at the spreading centre of the Bransfield Strait backarc; Somoza et al. (2004): "Temperatures as high as 107 C are recorded in beach interstitial waters close to the fumarole emissions (Villegas and Caselli, 1995; unpublished data of J.L.S.)"
