Notes on Vent Field Description:
German et al. (2010): "deep (∼3800 m) hydrothermal plume signals were detected at the very southern end of the MCR"; Connelly et al. (2010) did not locate with CTD, Autosub6000, or ROTV HyBIS; cruise FK008 (OASES 2013) report: "Returning to the “Walsh” area in the SW Mid Cayman Rise we then conducted a further series of 4 final CTD stations (CTD 17-21...) by which time we had both narrowed down the source of the weak hydrothermal venting signals to within ≤1km associated with an oceanic core complex close to 17°50’S, 81°50’W";
Year and How Discovered (if active, visual confirmation is listed first):
2009 plume only; 2013 plume only
