"It should be noted that the Ashadze 3 sulfide deposit reported by Beltenev et al. [2005] 1.8 km to the north of the Ashadze 1 vents, was not found again during the 2007 ROV investigation of the lower axial valley wall slopes." (Ondréas et al. 2012), "S. Petersen pers. comm. 2016 likely active, but Georgy Cherkashov pers. comm. 2019 suggests inactive"
