Notes on Vent Field Description:
cruise SS07/2008 report: "the Rochambeau Rifts (RR) is characterised by diffuse magmatism over a wide region of rifted crust with no single developed spreading centre, together with some localisation of magmatic activity in very large volcanic edifices, some of which are hydrothermally active.", Lobster is in Rift Zone 2 "A hydrocast (NLH-18) ... with a distinct particulate plume ... identified at 60m off bottom in the SE corner of the 1500m-deep summit caldera (2.5 km diameter) of Lobster."; note additional plume surveys were conducted in 2010 and reported by Lupton et al. (2012)
