Gracia et al. (1994): "Dead animals are found either isolated or associated with hydrothermal deposits around chimneys. Low temperature fluids are venting in the axial graben, at the foot of the western wall, associated with worms and yellow-brown inactive hydrothermal deposits containing sulfides and oxides."
